The Outer Dark Is Now On Facebook

In an effort to detach my blogging posts from my personal Facebook account I have decided to launch the official Swords Against the Outer Dark Facebook page. This is mainly due to my weariness of answering the "what the hell is this?" question I periodically get from family members and friends who just don't get it. I will be updating status alerts here when I publish new blog posts or have general news concerning this blog or any of the gaming materials I might be working on at the time. So if you are already friends with me on Facebook there is a very good chance that you will receive an invitation to "like" this new page. If for whatever reason are not friends with me on Facebook already please consider stopping by the new page and checking it out. Thanks!

Scribd Out, Google Docs In

After reading this post over at Propnomicon, and confirming the information that Scribd has moved away from a free document hosting site to a subscription-driven site, I have decided to pull all of my downloadable documents from Scribd and host them via Google Documents. This new pay-to-see model that Scribd has adopted for their "archived" documents works against the spirit in which I uploaded the documents to begin with. In hindsight I wish I had gone with Google Documents in the first place, but hindsight is always 20/20 as they say. I will try to have this migration complete in an hour or two.

Here are the documents I have available for download:

My Iconic D&D Image(s)

I know I am a little late to this party, but I have been out of town this past week. Here is my response to this question:

OK, so I chose two images, but I have always felt that these were companion pieces and should be viewed as two parts of a whole.

In my mind Erol Otus had a knack of capturing the essence of D&D in his work and he is my favorite of the TSR staff artists. When I see the cover art for these boxsets I get an overwhelming sense of nostalgia and a compulsion to roll up a new character. Nuff said...
