Robert Lee Ellison R.I.P.

My mentor, my hero, my grandfather, Robert Lee Ellison, died earlier tonight. He was the most exceptional human being I have ever known, and words cannot express just how much I loved him. He was 88 years old, and I am happy to say that he lived a full life surrounded by family and friends who loved and admired him very much. May he finally rest in peace...

Shane, I understand every single word. My pap died this past December. He was 92.

@Nathan - I am sorry to hear that. It sounds like you were as close to him as I was to mine. I hate to think how life has changed now... On a brighter note, you live in Wake Forest and I live in North Raleigh. We need to meet sometime, have coffee and talk shop. Feel free to email me at psmangus at gmail dot com.

Deepest sympathies and condolences, Shane. It's amazing how deeply our grandparents affect us. Losing them is like losing a piece of yourself that you can never get back.

The best you can do is try to honor his memory.
